Some of you might have noticed all our wooden play equipment has disappeared over the weekend! This was following my summer health and safety visit with our Health and Safety Manager Mr. Dale Barton.
Unfortunately the equipment is no longer safe and had become rotten, which could have posed a danger to the children in time, if left intact.
We have had to remove the equipment as a matter of urgency and are contacting contractors to remove the chippings and replace this with turf (chippings are unsafe as the compact forming a surface harder than concrete!) Natural grass is much safer for children to play on.
We will be looking into new equipment after consulting with the children and our School Council.
If you are visiting the school, please could you ensure you keep away from the chipping area.
