We are a fantastic group of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children. Our teachers are Mrs Marshall (Monday, Tuesday & Friday afternoon) and Miss Rowe (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday morning). Today the children have practised their drawing skills. They used good observational skills, sketching and shading to create their penguins for our Antarctica display. Very well done everyone!
Monday 14th January 2019
Today Class 1 really enjoyed their first dance lesson with Miss Dennis on the theme of Roald Dahl's story the BFG. They were very enthusiastic and creative!

Today the children have worked really hard following instructions and using their fine motor skills to create these wonderful snowmen as part of Extreme Weather topic. They really enjoyed the activity and were proud of their results...so am I!

We were very busy before we set off to Peter Pan yesterday. The children have loved making their Christmas crafts! This time we made robins!

Today we have used printing, painting, cutting and sticking skills to create some attractive reindeer pictures for Christmas. The children took a lot of care creating these and they look fantastic displayed in our classroom!
Friday 14th December
Despite Mrs Wildman being poorly today we still managed to enjoy a wonderful Christmas Lunch when Belinda came from Skipton to cook for us. With our party hats and crackers it was a truly festive occasion.

Christmas Play, 'It's A Party!'
Well done to all Class 1 children for taking part in our Christmas Play. I was so proud of them all for learning their lines, the song words and all the moves. Their performance was a great success and I know they enjoyed presenting the show to their families. Thank you also to all parents for the wonderful feedback...we're glad you enjoyed it!

I was very pleased to see the different projects that the children had produced at home over the past few weeks. They were really proud of their achievements and presented their work to the rest of the class who asked them questions and gave feedback on their work. It was a really positive experience! I am already looking forward to next half term's projects! Well done everyone!

Christmas Activities at Bethel Chapel
Today we were made to feel very welcome by everyone at the chapel. The volunteers had put together a fantastic morning of activities for us. We did Christmas crafts, listened and participated in the Christmas Story and enjoyed a delicious snack. Thank you to Sue and everyone at the chapel for a fantastic morning. Children in Need Welly Walk
We enjoyed our walk to Austwick today in all kinds of weathers to raise money for Children in Need. All the children showed a positive attitude, resilience and co-operation in order to be successful. Well done everyone!

This week Class 1 have been learning all about our capital city, London! We have recorded what we know already and what we want to find out. The children lost no time in trying to answer their own questions about the city when they explored the wonderful new fiction and non-fiction books we have in class.
Monday 5th November 2018
Today Class 1 began their work on writing a Bonfire Night poem. We watched a film of a bonfire and fireworks and then shared our ideas about what we had seen and heard. Together we created a class poem as a model to help them write their own poems tomorrow. I was really impressed with the children's vocabulary and ideas!

Thank you to Mrs Wildman for preparing the lovely food for our EYFS and KS1 Parent Lunch. We hope that all parents enjoyed sharing lunchtime with us.

We have been busy creating some Autumn artwork. The children loved this activity and worked with care to produce their autumn trees.

Class 1 have been busy preparing fruit kebabs for a healthy treat! As well as making the snack they were thinking about instruction writing and gathering vocabulary to use for their own set of written instructions.

Today the Reception and Y1 children practised their cutting out skills. It was very tricky but they all concentrated hard!

Today Class 1 went on a Clapham Walkabout to assist their learning in our Street Detectives topic. We had a lovely morning and everyone was well behaved. We enjoyed looking at all the man-made and natural features of our village. We all agreed we were very lucky to come to school in such a beautiful village!

Class 1 had a fantastic time at the Westmorland County Show finding out all about farming and countryside life.

Class 1 had lots of fun outdoors when they developed their football skills with Jordan in PE.
Welcome back to a new school year! We have already enjoyed 3 productive days back at school and the children have been very busy. They have ventured out into the sunshine to harvest some of the vegetables that have been growing over the summer, writing Harvest prayers and practising their English Maths and Computing skills. The Reception and Y1 children painted some brilliant pictures of themselves and everyone enjoyed trying out their football skills with Jordan in PE on Friday. We have also started to enjoy the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.
